Challenge
OLX and Facebook Marketplace were too broad — users wanted to buy and sell within their own neighborhood without traveling across the city.
Approach
Built a radius-based discovery system with Algolia geo-search, optimized for low-bandwidth connections common in tier-2 cities, and added Urdu/English bilingual support.
Outcome
Launched in Lahore and Islamabad. 18k downloads with 34% monthly retention. Average transaction distance: 1.2km.
